      Woodland Retreats specializes in destination-style weddings, including:

      Our properties are ideal for couples seeking privacy, natural beauty, and a full weekend experience with their closest guests.

    • What is the maximum wedding guest count?

      Both Hocking Manor and Timberframe Lodge allow up to 125 wedding guests for the event. In addition to event guests, couples may select 27+ overnight guests (per property) to stay for the wedding weekend. Overnight lodging is reserved exclusively for the couple’s chosen guests.

      Event guests and overnight guests are counted separately.

    • How many overnight guests can stay on-site?

      Each property accommodates 27+ overnight guests.

      Only registered overnight guests are permitted to stay on the property after the event concludes.

      • What are check-in and check-out times for weddings?

        Wedding bookings include extended access:

        • Check-in: as early as 9:00 AM on arrival day
        • Check-out: by 12:00 PM (noon) on departure day

        This allows time for setup, celebration, and a relaxed departure.

        • Is there a wedding venue fee?

          Yes. Weddings are booked under a separate Event Agreement and include a venue fee.

          Pricing varies based on:

          • Property
          • Season
          • Day of the week

          Lodging is added separately based on the number of nights reserved.

        • Do you offer wedding packages?

          No. Woodland Retreats is a venue-only property.

          We do not offer bundled packages. This allows couples full creative control and flexibility in designing their wedding experience.

          • Do you require a Day-of Coordinator?

            Yes.

            All weddings must use a Day-of Coordinator provided through Ohio Bartenders for Hire (OBfH).

            This requirement ensures:

            • Timeline management
            • Vendor coordination on-site
            • Property protection
            • Guest safety and compliance with venue policies

            Coordinator services are not included in the venue rental. All arrangements and payments are made directly between the couple and Ohio Bartenders for Hire.

          • Is bartending required?

            Yes.

            All alcohol service must be managed by licensed bartenders from Ohio Bartenders for Hire.

            Couples may provide:

            • Beer
            • Wine
            • Champagne (including a toast)
            • Up to two (2) signature cocktails

            Bartending services are arranged and paid directly by the couple. Woodland Retreats does not sell, serve, organize, or collect payment for alcohol or bartending services.

          • Can we choose our own vendors?

            Yes — with structure.

            Woodland Retreats graciously introduces couples to trusted, pre-vetted vendors who:

            • Know our properties
            • Understand our expectations
            • Deliver a consistent guest experience
            Vendor categories commonly include:
            • Tables, chairs, linens, napkins, and tents
            • Day-of coordinator
            • Licensed bartenders
            • Florists
            • Music / DJ services
            • Wedding cake and bakery
            • Caterers and private chefs

            Important:

            All vendors are independent third parties.

            All contracts, coordination, payments, and performance are handled directly between the couple and the vendor.

            Woodland Retreats does not organize, manage, supervise, or accept payment for vendor services.

          • Are tables, chairs, linens, or tents included?

            No. These items are not included in the venue rental.

            We are happy to introduce you to rental vendors familiar with our properties, but all arrangements and payments are handled directly by the couple.

          • Can furniture or benches be moved?

            For safety and preservation:

            • Only Woodland Retreats staff may move furniture or benches
            • Approved relocation is available as an add-on service
            • Unauthorized movement results in fees and potential damage charges

            Our benches are handcrafted from timber harvested on the property and require professional handling.

          • Are outdoor ceremonies allowed?

            Yes. Both properties offer multiple outdoor ceremony locations.

            Final locations may be adjusted due to:

            • Weather
            • Ground saturation
            • Safety considerations

            Any required changes will be communicated and discussed in advance.

          • What décor is allowed?
            • Outdoor décor must use real flowers only
            • Indoor décor may include artificial florals
            • No nails, screws, staples, or permanent alterations
            • Candles must be enclosed
            • Sparklers, fireworks, and open flames are prohibited

            All décor plans must be approved in advance.

          • Are pets or animals allowed?

            We are Pet Friendly.

            The property is home to horses and donkeys.

            • Guests may interact with animals at designated areas only
            • No outside pets unless approved in writing
          • Are there quiet hours?

            Yes. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

            • Amplified music must end by 10:00 PM
            • A warning will be provided before enforcement
          • What insurance is required?

            Couples must provide:

            • Special Event General Liability Insurance
            • Minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence
            • Woodland Retreats, LLC named as Additional Insured
            Certificates of Insurance are due 30 days prior to the event.
          • How do we reserve our wedding date?

            To secure your wedding date:

            • Signed Event Agreement
            • Approximately 50% deposit due at booking
            • Remaining balance due six (6) months prior to the event

          • How many people can your properties accommodate?

            Each property accommodates 27+ overnight guests. Daytime retreat capacity varies by layout and property:

            • Hocking Manor: up to approximately 100 guests
            • Timberframe Lodge: up to approximately 125 guests

            Final guest counts must be approved in advance.

          • Do you provide meeting equipment or conference setup?

            Woodland Retreats is a venue-only property. We do not provide:

            • Audiovisual equipment
            • Projectors or screens
            • Microphones or speakers
            • Whiteboards, flip charts, or office supplies
            • Staging or conference furnishings

            Clients are responsible for securing all meeting equipment. Upon request, we are happy to introduce trusted rental vendors familiar with our venues.

          • What are the check-in and check-out times for corporate retreats?

            Corporate retreats include extended access:

            • Check-in: as early as 9:00 AM
            • Check-out: by 12:00 PM (noon)

            This allows ample time for setup, meetings, and a relaxed departure.

          • Can we bring in our own vendors?

            Yes. Clients may bring in their own caterers, facilitators, or service providers. All vendors must be pre-approved and provide proof of insurance naming Woodland Retreats, LLC as Additional Insured. We also maintain a list of trusted vendors familiar with our properties and expectations.

          • Is alcohol permitted during corporate retreats?

            Alcohol is permitted if it complies with Ohio law and professional standards.

            • Licensed bartenders are required for service
            • No self-service alcohol
            • Host reserves the right to limit or discontinue alcohol service if safety or professionalism is compromised
          • Are team-building or wellness activities allowed?

            Yes. Corporate-friendly activities such as wellness sessions, facilitated discussions, and low-impact team-building exercises are welcome. All instructors must provide appropriate certifications and liability insurance. Woodland Retreats does not provide facilitation but may introduce vetted partners.

          • What amenities are included with our retreat?

            Amenities vary by property but may include:

            • Large gathering spaces
            • Fully stocked kitchens
            • Indoor and outdoor meeting areas
            • Hot tubs
            • Indoor heated saltwater pool (Hocking Manor)
            • Private Lake and trails (Timberframe Lodge)
            • Fire pits and scenic outdoor spaces

            Specific amenities will be confirmed during booking.

          • Can furniture be moved to accommodate our meeting layout?

            To protect the property, only Woodland Retreats staff may move furniture or benches.

            Approved furniture relocation services are available for an additional flat fee and must be requested in advance.

          • Are add-on services available?

            Optional add-ons may include:

            • Furniture relocation
            • Bench relocation
            • Mid-stay cleaning
            • Firewood bundles
            • Private chef introductions

            All add-ons must be requested in writing, approved, and paid at least 60 days prior to the event.

            Availability is not guaranteed.

          • What insurance is required?

            Corporate retreat clients must provide Commercial General Liability Insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 per occurrence, naming Woodland Retreats, LLC as Additional Insured.

            Certificates of Insurance are due at least 30 days prior to arrival.

          • Are there quiet hours?

            Yes. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This ensures a peaceful environment for guests, neighbors, and wildlife.

          • Is Woodland Retreats suitable for multi-day retreats?

            Absolutely. Our properties are ideal for two- to four-night retreats, allowing teams to unplug, connect, and work collaboratively in a private, immersive setting.

          • How far in advance should we book?

            Corporate retreats are recommended to be booked 6–12 months in advance, especially for peak seasons (spring through fall). Midweek dates offer greater availability and flexibility
